About Us
So what does SO&CO Accessories mean?
Well, the SO comes from the owners initials, Susan Oliver and the CO stands for Company as a reference to all of our lovely accessories suppliers. Or as we prefer to be known, SO&CO Accessories.
Our Story
At SO&CO Accessories our mission is to bring affordable and contemporary, design led accessories to our customers. More than ever, there is a desire for more meaningful, sustainable products – accessories which, whether made by fabulous local suppliers or from artisans in the rest of the world, they are made with a sense of style and craftmanship.
SO&CO Accessories opened in our present shop in 2019, but that’s not where the story began. Before opening the shop in North Berwick High Street, I designed and made my own jewellery, trading at fairs and events throughout Scotland and the North of England. I soon built up a following of loyal customers so when Why Not?, a makers marketplace started up in the town, I rented space in there. As the business expanded, I added to the stock lines and bought in other accessories to sell such as more jewellery, handbags, hats, scarves, gloves and ponchos.
I soon built up a regular following of customers so when some premises became available, I jumped at the opportunity to take on my own shop to showcase the carefully chosen selection of accessories. Our loyal customers followed us to the new premises and they still shop with us today.
Good customer service to help each customer to find that different item to finish off an outfit or that thoughtful gift for a loved one, is at the heart of the business. Great customer feedback is so much appreciated by the team however my favourite part of the job has to be travelling around the country, looking for potential suppliers and to source new stock in order to make the shop a delightful oasis of accessories.
The team look forward to welcoming you to SO&CO Accessories soon.
